"The Big Dipper" and "The Concord of Taste"
Walter Blackburn

William was the husband of Jennie Blackburn, father of Ward Blackburn, and step-father (and, yes, father-in-law) of May Blackburn. He sold his grocery store in Portland, as ordered by May, and procured a small building at 1028 South Olive Street in Los Angeles. Here he established the Walter J. Blackburn Publishing Company. By August of 1924, the clunky, amateur press was pumping out pamphlets written by May called the "Seventh Trumpet of Saint Gabriel," promoting the Great Eleven's unusual theology.
